Princess Tessy - The Princess Diary - March 2004 March 31 17:19 It seems to work ok in other computer too.  I made so it starts webcamera program when that computer is switched on. Unfortunately that means i would have to get another monitor somewhere just to be able to sometimes save live picture series or whatever changes needed. But for now i will just be happy it worked, and keep things in the newest brain wich i use it can be left on too. Now i go have a nice bath anyway, because computer things worked. One thing that didnt work though, is Java for streaming live picture... I had one that worked fine, but the Java i downloaded now didnt work so i will have to find the other i had. Maybe some Citizens will need the better Java too for watching live stream. I try to find that in evening for me and you too if you need it. *hugs* March 31 16:05 I should probably try to avoid new computer problems, but i will try anyway to get live picture working on the other computer. It should work because i got it to work on this brain. One problems is how to get programs needed to the other computer... there is a network, but when i tried something like file sharing in Windows i didnt get anywhere. And there is no cdrom in the other computer. Well i realised when hugging my great hugbears in sofa, that there is an easy solution to moving programs to other computer. I save the programs in webspace, create a secret webpage with links to save the programs, then save them on the other computer. Not the closest path for programs to get to other computer ofcourse, but probably the simplest. I will try that, if it works then great, if it doesnt work then i will go have a nice warm bath maybe that helps my poor back wich still isnt all well...March 31 14:01 I need to put up a little shelf or two for the webcamera so it can watch over my room from good places. I will go find one tomorrow. March 31 09:43 Interesting. Now suddenly when i tried again to get the oldest webcamera to work in newest computer, it waked up and seems to work. Even better is that all the webcamera program settings werent lost when moving to a new Windows i was a bit worried having to find the special codes needed to have time in live picture. Anyway then, a good start of todays computer time. For now i set webcamera to work on the computer i use, later as i wrote it is ment to be on the other computer so i can just leave that computer on and live picture doesnt dissapear much for Citizens and Tourists who want to visit our castle. I just have to find the program wich keeps IP address of a network computer updated or the streaming will not work much because i sure cant update number changes manually... I am thinking i could make a webpage about how to do this live picture thing, some may not have a clue. *hug* March 30 21:57 My back is still not perfectly happy, i will rest this week and only do some simple exercises. If back doesnt get well i guess i better visit a doctor... i fell asleep with hugbears in afternoon, they are so nice company it is easy to get sleepy when resting with them. We love to sort of have a group hug while thinking about this and that. But now ofcourse i have waked up, saw a bit tv news, and found the email news program thingy there was 77 new subscribers to get news. Guess i better create or do something worth writing about then. Anyway this means i probably have most of the basic programs i need in the newest computer, so i can return to more normal creativity in computer corner. I will try to get old webcamera working too, but if it doesnt want to work then live internet camera will just have to wait. Hope everyone had nice day, mine was mostly nice. *hugs* March 30 14:24 Probably no gaming server for a while, it was just an idea the little Garfield webmaster got yesterday. Today i have mostly been busy getting better order in my sewing things, so things i am going to use are somewhere i know about, and things that i dont need can be put away in some storage space. I like to have things in order around me mostly. I will see what gets done in computer today, but before i make any new webthings i want the email news program in new computer brainy, so i can send annoying news in a few days. Lady Bear thinks i have been good today when i sort of cleaned up in my sewing things and fabrics, but she also thinks i have to spend more time sewing new gowns and things so fabrics dont just stay unused. I guess that could be a good idea, to do some new sewing before warm summer days. March 29 20:24 If you like computer games, and especially some internet multiplayer game, maybe this news link is intersting. I remember once a friend made me play Unreal Tournament, i even got pretty good at it, and also opened a multiplayer server a while. Mr Bear says maybe the Happy World should have its own gaming server so we will try. I only have the old UT game somewhere, but i will try to get it working in a day or so maybe someone else has it. Those shooting games arent really my favourite, but they seem to be popular so i guess good enough for me too sometimes... and i did get quite dangerous in game earlier.  March 29 15:34 My back is hurting today, i dont know why but it is annoying and i think i should rest today no physical activity until back feels fine again. I can sit in computer corner though. I managed to get the Photoshop program working again, and also the special fix worked for digital camera so i could move newest photos to computer from camera. So if oldest webcamera cant work, and the newer isnt much useful because it adjusts for light badly, then at least i can make photos and get them into computer. Today i found a nice cozy *hugs* photo with Mr Bear and Lady Bear, they like to borrow my Cozy Cloaks and hide under them to hug each other. I like to hide under cloaks with them too and share hugs. Now i will go rest my back a while before dinner, then i try to get some more things done in computer. I feel i should try to hurry up creating Citizens webpages, because building the first houses for us first brave Citizens has been slowed by computer problems. And also some things have to be created before April 1, not to make an April Fools joke but because the first Story Writing competition is ment to be during April. So the Library has to be built for the story books. Oh, and as i was thinking because there will maybe not be much live camera working for a while, perhaps until i can get a new useful webcamera, then i will instead spend computer time snooping in the very many older live pictures i have somewhere. Now Mr Bear says he want to hug my back so it gets well. I gave Mr Bear's soft feet a massage yesterday he likes that, and i like his furry soft feet just as much as his magic paws. So today Mr Bear is happy to help take care of my back, Mr Bear knows i will take care of him any day and any time. *hug* March 28 19:50 I just realised today it is ment to be summer time i have to move all clocks one hour forward. So one hour is lost today, i wonder what i had done with that hour if it had still been here. I dont know, but now i am an extra hour hungry and Mr Bear too looks extra hungry after we had lots of hugs for hours. I will make more yummy toasted sandwiches for us all. March 28 15:43 There was some game with the new graphics card, Splinter Cell, i dont know what it is but maybe i try it later. Now hugbears will get lots of nice hugs from me, wich means i will get lots of nice hugs back from them, wich means we will all be happy and smiley today. March 27 20:27 Me and hugbears watch a funny tv program, it is some beer guy who is supposed to learn wines in three weeks and then be a sommelier wich is one of those people who knows a lot about all the many wine bottles and such. It seems to be a challenge for him, he doesnt know anything... I dont know much about either beer or wines myself maybe i learn something. For my own taste, i think mostly a good thing to drink with nice dinners is... water. It lets the food taste as it is ment. I have sometimes had wine with a dinner but i actually dont like it much, water is always fine with any food especially if it is spicy food. I have had a rest from computer today, too much computerthings bothering me earlier in week. Now i am going to have nice evening with hugbears and lots of *hugs* I will make yummy toasted sandwiches for us, Mr Bear has waited all day for them it will be so nice to see his extra big smile. Good night *hugs* to my great hugbears and all other friendly people who want a *hug* March 26 18:42 My best friend has been acting like a half-muppet the past 3 months, should i bother to keep his friendship or not? I dont know. I have had my doubts in the past if he really is a 'best friend' or not. I sort of made up my mind today based on this and that, things i mostly dont share in the Diary, about reality and my private life. This friend, who repeatedly has called me his best friend for about 10 year, is about to loose his 'best friend' who also happens to be one of the few Princesses in this world. He doesnt even know if yet, but he will understand it today or before this month is over. I dont care about people who dont care about me, simple as that. I mean, i know lots of remote people who would be on their knees to be a friend of mine, but this long time best friend acts like i'm a ghost or something lately. Last time i met him was New Year when i invited him for very nice dinner and champagne to celebrate a happy new year. Then he sort of dissapeared... perhaps i will let the Happy World Cisitens decide what i should do with this friend, as soon as i get the Citizen Votes working. The happy world is a special sort of democratic monarchy. March 26 16:49 Now the newest computer brain works. But i have so far only put WinAmp for music listeng in it and found my own internet startpage so i can at least write in Diary and some few other things. Some people may not be like me, but i use computer a lot for music listening with DI radio channels. I know there are other music streams too, i will explore that some day and share what i find. I even found one page with broadband tv, i bookmarked it for future exploration. March 26 14:01 Just for fun i will use one of the computer speed testing programs i have read about sometimes, 3DMark 03, to see wich numbers one computer gets and then the other. After testing this computer i guess time to move to the newest computer, and start to make it all work ok on that as it used to be in my old computer wich suddenly became useless... I make a webpage about computers when i have moved to newest brain, with some technical things and the testing numbers and links if you want to test your computer performance too. March 26 11:49 Finally some positive news about the newest computer brain. After visiting computer technician, it was tested that the memory didnt work with new brain... it should work, the motherboard manual said it should work, the technician thought it was strange that the memory didnt work, but anyway that was the problem. So i didnt do anything wrong. And well... the easy solution to this was to get two new faster memorys, two so the new brain also can make use of Dual Channel memory, that makes computer faster i read about it somewhere. And also, since technician first put in a graphics card to test if that was the problem (wich it wasnt) then i thought i may as well buy that too. Its probably not a super graphics card, it says GeForce FX 5200 with 128Mb memory. Sounds like better graphics than the older at least, but less cool than other model numbers 5700, 5900, or 5950 or whatever there is. But then again, i still only have two favourite computer games to play, so i dont really need a supercomputer. Now time for lunch, then i will begin once again to get order in things, i guess i have to install Windows once again on the newest computer, but then i can hopefully settle down on it for a long time with programs and webthings. End of unexpected computer adventures. Had i known this would become such a long story, i may as well just have bought a new computer in the first place. But i hadnt planned to do that, and this way at least i got to learn some things and play doctor inside computers. March 25 22:39 I talked a little to a technical person in the computer shop today, tomorrow i take the newest computer there so he can test what isnt working and hopefully then i can take it home working as it should. I tested the newer (but almost never used) webcamera today, i will show soon why it isnt much useful compared to the old. Tomorrow i should have batteries for digital camera, so i can see if it can move photos to computer, i hope that works just as well in new computer brain as in the old. It should work. If it doesnt work, i will get upset...March 25 10:00 Going to computer shop today, to try and find out what is wrong with the newest computer brain. Maybe it needs a newer graphics card to work. Maybe it needs different memory. Maybe something is broken, or got broken when i tried to put things together... They also build computers there, so they should have a clue or two. March 24 22:31 When i was going to install things for digital camera, it beeped for low battery so that will take another day to recharge batteries before i know if it works. It should work ok with the special fix i found earlier, but no guarantee because i cant get the old webcamera to work. It seems to not work with new USB in the new computer (the one wich works now, not the one wich doesnt work yet...) so who knows. I do have a newer webcamera, that one works with new computer USB but that isnt a useful camera even if it is newer. Why? It doesnt adjust well for room light, it needs good sunlight to show any colourful picture. The oldest was much better with adjusting to not-so-much light, so i always used that even if it had not-so-great picture. So i dont know how live picture will be for a while, days are getting brighter so sunlight should be available in daytime, but cozy evenings in sofa i think will look really dark and boring in the webcam wich works. I will try to find a useful new webcamera when i can. I didnt bother with newest computer anymore today, i think it will go to some computer company so people who have more things to test what works and what doesnt work can make it a happy brain. I think better to pay someone for help than spend too much time getting nowhere... Me and hugbears watched some pair skating this evening, they are really good ofcourse in world championships. I think maybe i practice more figure skating instead of wasting time learning and experimenting with insides of computers. March 24 16:45 It shouldnt be memory problems, all pages i read said Dual Channel works with paired DDR memory, and if there is no pairs then it should work normal anyways at half memory speed. Or something like that. I realised now though, it should be better with paired memorys because it makes CPU talk to memory a lot faster. Oh well, i dont need any super speed unless i test new games later, for now i just want two useful computers. Maybe i talk to computer shops tomorrow, someone should have answers or something. That is a maybe, i want to make this work myself, that is why i even bought new parts, to build things and learn things. Something wich isnt a maybe, is that it is time for a nice long group  *hug* with Mr Bear and Lady Bear again. March 24 15:26 I am lucky to have Mr Bear and Lady Bear, i get new energy from their hugs. I should probably stop writing about the computer adventures, but i think it may bother my brain until everything works as it should so... read it or come back in a week. I hope to get things to work this week though, preferrably yesterday but guess it is too late for that. I will try to get a look at the processor brain if it has got damaged connectors, the newest computer cant get more non-working anyway... only thing i wonder about and would want to find an answer for before i try to remove processor cooling things (wich seems like a tricky adventure by itself) is if Dual Channel memory support, means the memory chips have to be in pairs, or if it should work with only one chip. I have one 512Mb chip and i havent read anywhere that it shouldnt work with that. Maybe the problem is i have to get another same sort of memory, just to get a pair to work with Dual Channel but that would be stupid. I did say in computer shop i want things to work with an older 512Mb PC2700 memory. Well, older... i guess it isnt old some months old, but computer world seems to be full of model numbers and this and that version of this or that and... maybe i throw out both the oldest and the newest computer soon.  March 24 11:05 Continuing from yesterday, i made another test with memory and with no memory, so i dont think the memory chip thing is anything wrong with. What is left that could cause problem with newest computer not working? Bad main board or processor, both new bought. Or perhaps the graphics card doesnt work with new things, but i doubt that. It does say only for 1.5V AGP cards, not 3.3V cards. But since the other P4 main board i have says the same, 1.5V video only and it works fine there that isnt the problem... Well. One thing that came to my mind today after having nice dreams with hugbears close, is that maybe the CPU got damaged when i put it in the main board. I do know about being careful with static electricity and staying grounded, i have done my studies... but anyway, anyone who has bought an Intel CPU with included cooling knows they are packaged inside hard plastic and sealed very well. So when i opened it and the last sealing point was suddenly opened, the little processor actually jumped out a little from its place, and if i remember correctly one corner of it landed lying a bit up on one of the edges. No big movement, not very hard landing at all probably, no big flying trip for the little brain, but then again... there are lots of sensitive connectors on the CPU underside, and i forgot to look at them. Maybe one or a few in the corner got bent after opening package. I dont know. If that happened, i am sure the CPU will be useless now, after being squeezed down under the cooling things. I dont feel like trying to remove the CPU fan and those things, it is enough tricky to get those into place while same time being careful. It does make a bit of sense, that the CPU could have got damaged. That would sort of suck, since it is the most costly part of a computer. I guess i will just have to remove cooling things from the new brain, pick it up and see if connectors on underside are ok or not. I am thinking i could just use this one working computer, but if i get settled in this computer and begin putting programs and things back, then i will just have to do that all over again when i the newest brain to work. I dont know what to do really, i am tired of computer insides. Maybe i have a look at new processor today, but now i put back some of the most needed things in computer that works. Winamp so i can listen to DI radio. Email so i can read and send emails. March 23 21:18 After eating an evening sandwich i decided to make a first simple test of what is wrong with building the new computer brain. I finally got it to beep! It beeped for having no memory, just as it should. If you read here and have no idea what i am writing about, it is about the (usually only one short) beep codes a PC normally makes after getting powered, and before doing anything else. It is something i learned a little about when building my first computer, the Power On Self Test. Anyway, now the new brain has almost nothing in it, to test what is wrong. With memory and CPU left in, no beeps. With memory taken out, beeps. So there is nothing wrong with the beeping-speaker or those annoying little cables i connected there. Maybe the memory doesnt work with the new main board. Manual says it should work, they said same in computer shop. But i thought... perhaps one has to change some BIOS settings to use memory wich isnt ment for 800MHz FSB. Manual says the memory i want to have in newest computer, PC2700 memory, can be run at 320MHz instead of 333. Numbers here and there...  but main board also can have something named dual channel memory, i guess that is paired memory chips or something. Maybe i need to have two of same sort? How on earth can i find the problem and fix it... i dont know yet. But at least now i know the new brain isnt all dead, it beeped. Wee! First time i am happy for an error beep message. I think after this, someone at computer shop will be responsible for building or upgrading my computer brain(s) because even if this is a little fun, it is also lots of problems.March 23 19:38 After searching with Google a little about todays computer-building problems, with no beep warnings and nothing, me and Garfield realise we arent the only ones who got this strange thing happening. Well, we will maybe experiment more tomorrow. March 23 19:07 Well, one computer works now, the one that is supposed to be for live picture and perhaps multiplayer game serving sometimes depending on what me or Citizens feel like. But the new brain doesnt work, i dont know why it doesnt start. There is supposed to be warning beeps when starting a computer if something is wrong, but it doesnt beep anything. Instructions for those connectors were a bit bad, but i tried twice connecting power switch, harddrive lamps and that, compared wich colour cable went where in computer that works and made same in the new brain. Nothing. Now i moved things to the computer that works, both harddrives and the graphics card so i dont get bad monitor picture. I am really tired of these things now, even if it is a bit fun and interesting too. But i think enough for today, the useless little Garfield who couldnt help me build working computers is already sleeping from all the thinking he did. Oh well... anyway, i will try to search a bit in Internet maybe there is answers somewhere. Hmm, i have to once again get emails back this is getting repetitive... Oh, another not so cool problem appeared, the webcamera isnt recognised. I remember there was problems with that earlier, but then i got it to work some way so i should be able to do that again. I should probably get a newer webcamera sometime, it is really old and not so good, but i sort of like it anyway. Hmm, well, a little searching on webpages for help with computer building and possible problems, but i think it is very soon time for nice *hugs* with Mr Bear and Lady Bear. Hugs are much nicer than stupid computers that dont work as i want. March 23 12:38 Me and the little Garfield webmaster visited computer shop today to try and fix the recent problems. 500$ spent on a brand new computer motherboard and one of those 2.8GHz P4 HT brains, we are ready to get two computers working again, instead of two half dead brains. Well, the oldest doesnt have any picture so that cant be used. And this new i write on now, had no programs except IE and email yet. Anyway, webmaster thinks we can get things working better today and as an unplanned bonus i will get a new really fast computer. And yes i know it is sort of a waste of computer brain power to have a powerful P4 computer only for live picture, but i wrote about computer games earlier, and then maybe in future it will be more useful for that than a P3 computer. It is the P3 wich will be thrown in garbage today, there is nothing wrong with the oldest computer really, except the picture goes to nowhere... Anyway, we will try to put some computer parts here and some there, and get two working computer brains. Then i can try to put programs back as they should be and continue with webthings. Just wanted to write about today so those who care about the Happy World, the hugbears, and perhaps me, that we care about you too. That is why i spent 500$ on boring computer things so the Happy World webthings can continue to work properly, instead of perhaps getting things i actually wanted to buy for some hundred dollars. Anyways... off to build computers again. I hope things work ok no later than tomorrow. March 22 20:14 This week is World Figure Skating Championships in Dortmund. So anyone interested and not having computer problems to worry them could watch it in Eurosport or other tv channels. I will watch too, i just have to *hug* Mr Bear this evening and think how we are going to solve this new problem... Because i now lost all emails, programs and things, i may as well start from a clean computer maybe. I even had to restart email box, i couldnt find the password i had to renew it, so if someone wrote an email today i didnt get it. Same with older emails, i dont have them anymore Windows deleted them. After i fix these computer problems, i hope i dont have to bother with computerthings for at least some years...March 22 18:54 Now i have good graphics on the new computer, no problems with that, something positive today. Bad news is... a new Windows means i lost all emails, all programs and settings, all my Favourite links, lost my ICQ, have to install all the programs again... i cant even get emails now because i have to find the login information first. No webcamera either, i hope to get that and some other things working soon. Before this new trouble happened, at least i got the little thing i found in eBay earlier in mail. I will make a photo with it soon so you can see it. Now back to repairing after computer problems...March 22 18:02 Ok. This was stupid. I dont think it is my fault, but the older computer cant be used for anything right now, and the newer has a Windows on it, but all programs and things dont have links as i want after the new install. So what happened? Well... I read in both computer manuals, and both appeared to have their own monitor chips on computer main board. So i figured both could actually work without the graphics card, instead use their own built in graphics. I know there are such options to select in the BIOS of computers, use built in graphics or another graphics card. Ok so here was the major problem... i entered BIOS of older computer to set it to use built in graphics, wich manual says it has. Restart computer. And... well... WHERE WAS THE PICTURE? I ofcourse realised after the settings change, picture woudl go out from the main boards vga connector to monitor, not from the graphics card. So i went to move connector... but... there is no built in monitor connector on the older computer. So? No picture! That computer just cant get a picture to a monitor, and as anyone can guess that makes it really useless to try and use it for anything.  I really dont know how to get picture back on older computer, it seems impossible since i cant even see a picture how can i change settings back? Stupid stupid stupid... Well, i got really upset about this. If i had looked at older computer and not found a built-in monitor connector before i changed settings i could have avoided this accidental mistake, but somehow it happened and this is really negative. Do i have to just throw away the older computer now? I cant see how to make it useable again. Anyways... now i have had to move things to newer computer even if i didnt want to do it today because of possible problems. So everything is a mess. The new computer also has built in graphics, but it includes a monitor connector THANK YOU. Graphics are no good though, so i moved the graphics card to new computer too. Now i should at least not possibly be left with no picture at all, i hope. If i now change for newer computer to use graphics card instead of built in graphics, i just move monitor cable to the graphics card connector. And if that has no picture, i guess picture has to be in the other connector. Either way picture cant get lost again going to a non-existant monitor connector. This was just ridiculous and wasted today with worries instead of creativity. I do have a new plan how to solve this, but it includes buying another new computer and throw the old out my window... what good is that computer ever again, if i cant get a monitor picture out from it? Stupid. Mr Bear looked in manual too, it said it has a VGA built in and showed a connector. But there wasnt any on the older computer. New plan is... first to try and get things i need working on new computer, email, programs and things. Then i will, later, just get things for another new computer wich has no way to loose its picture to unknown space... i am so annoyed with computers today i could just switch them off and have a months vacation. But i want to make things for Citizens so i will try my best to get some order in the new computer. I had planned to use older computer for live picture so it could be on all the time as it once was, but i guess that has to wait a bit now... Oh well. Now i restart this new computer, change it to use graphics card, and hope it works. The only way picture could be lost now, would be if the graphics card i moved from older computer suddenly doesnt work. Then i am blind in computerworld again... that would be really negative. But this just told me i dont deserve any more problems today so things will work better from now. Thank you little smiley. *hugs*March 22 12:06 Today i will begin the computer-switch experiment, wich i guess may turn out a whole adventure because usually things never work exactly as expected... Anyway, i got a small older harddrive (1.7Gb for the curious...) wich i will put in my old computer instead of the big one there now. Then i will put Windows and webcamera program on the small harddrive, and thats it. It should work, but that isnt the whole mission... i want to take the big harddrive from old computer, and move it into new computer. I actually have two 40Gb harddrives i can have in new computer, and as i read about possible problems when being 'clever' and trying to move a harddrive from one computer to another, maybe i should use one for all the important things. But, as i can remember starting from a clean Windows means one has to install all the programs and things once again, wich takes half a day at least... booooring. And also, emails and things that are in the Windows place on harddrive can get lost. Arent computers fun. Anyway i will try the first part of the computer switch now, and then just put back things as they were. Maybe tomorrow or someday later i dare move to the more complex things of really moving all my things in computer to the new brainy. I would just get very annoyed if things work badly, so i better learn about things before i experiment too much. Sometimes lazyness just gives more problems. I will also test some other things, but no move today. Anyway if i suddenly dont write anything in Diary or live camera window for a day or four this week it is probably computer problems... But i have a clever little Garfield webmaster to help me, so i think we will be ok. Maybe Mr Bear can help too, he has no work today in his cozy taxes office so he could help us with computer thingys. March 21 18:42 It has been a slow lazy *hug* day here in my castle, me and hugbears stayed in cozy bed most of today and hugged. Now i am going to visit food shop and buy... not much food, but some candy and snacks because Mr Bear wanted something to *grompf* in evening. Anyway, i am thinking of finding a graphics card for the new computer but it is a jungle to find what i need. Sure the prices say what is probably better then the cheaper options, but the question i ask myself is wich of them do i need. I am not sure i will need the best things, because when i played Morrowind with older computer it worked ok and as i read in papers that was a Geforce 2 with 32Mb memory. Now since then there has been GeForce 4 and now it seems FX are the letters beside the model numbers. Oh well... anyway, i want a card that i can play games with. Why? Because i am thinking we should maybe have a gaming place in Happy World and perhaps sometimes my old computer could be gaming server. I could try new games and find links and whatever, i know computer games are popular but i mostly dont bother with them so far but i am sure there are more interesting games waiting to be found. Also with those graphics cards, it seems there are new better (?) models every half year or something, no idea trying to keep up with that. Anyway, from problems earlier today i also reinstalled Windows, wich made the special fix for digital camera go away, i couldnt move photos to computer now. So i guess i will have a break with photoing... i am supposed to create other webthings first anyway. Now i am tired and will go to bed, maybe the hugbears fall asleep in cozy sofa then i can have the whole bed alone with three nice pillows to hug. But even if all the pillows and also two great hugbears make our cozy bed a little crowded, we like it as it is. And i would miss my hugbears friendly faces close to me in morning if they werent there. I would also miss their goodmorning *hugs* so i will not let them fall to sleep in sofa. I wasnt in city today because of the unexpected computer problems, so i should do that tomorrow. It shouldnt take too much of day, so then i can be home to sit in new comfy chair and be creative. Mr Bear so far had no work to do today. Some days will be quiet in his taxes office but he likes a break from work sometimes and i dont mind either. This was a way more nasty automatic program install than the one i got some month ago from a similarly innocent webpage. Today's illegal entry into my computer brain installed... 48 'favourite' links to totally bad and possibly illegal porn sites, a keylogging Trojan (that was a scary find!) a permanently changed IE start page set to some site wich tries to sell software to protect from... exactly the things that intruded my computer! Great sales technique hmm... invade peoples computers with stupid viruses, then try to sell protection. It's like a car company sending out badguys to blow up cars everywhere so there will be more car sales. Anyway, i dont have a better IE yet, i will try other options. What i do have is a good anti-crap program wich i read about. It is supposed to be better than some wellknown McAffee and Norton antiviruses. I dont know about that, but it helped me. I am now totally tired of computer after spending 6 hours with this unwelcome problem i will only make one small update in evening after i rest my eyes... a friendly useful internet security page me and the little Garfield webmaster create. I would seriously suggest everyone who dont already have safety programs they trust well, to get the program i saved. I only had a look in a webpage's guestbook... and what did i get as an added bonus? Some annoying crap program install, obviously some Russian Porn mafia who have absolutely no moral... Yes, maybe it happened to you some time some where on the Internet. Automatic virus-like program installs done from a webpage. This is the second time it has happened to me, and enough is enough i am thinking of paying for the Opera browser or whatever other options there are, just to send Microsoft my message. I am only one of millions of users of the IE browser, but why on earth dont they DO something about these things? WHY can scripts or programs even be run from emails, that is not necessary at any time, and i learned a long time ago to not click programs and attached files. Anyway, this thing with getting crap from simply visiting an innocent webpage is worse than virus emails because i always get the newest IE and still i got two such things in a few months. I am not interested in getting some stupid World Lolita website automaticly added to my Favourites. And i didnt ask to get my Start Page changed to some porn site this morning. And i am not interested in getting stupid porn modem dialers installed. I dont even have a modem, so they dont work anyway. Argh i am so upset today (all hugfriends are upset too!) what a bad start of todays computer creativity... ofcourse these malicious things can be removed, but they should not be able to get into peoples computers through IE and visiting a webpage in first place. And yes, i have high security settings in my IE, no Active X allowed or such. What are you doing about this Microsoft? Too little. And too late. March 18 03:11 I had to stay up late and help Mr Bear count todays little taxes now we are both so tired. *hugs* Live picture is off but comes back tomorrow after i get home from visiting city. In some days me and the little Garfield webmaster will try to move all things i have in computer to new computer, and our plan is to let my older computer only take care of live picture program. Then the old computer can be on almost all the time, and i can still play games or write music or whatever on the new computer brain. I made one new photo today, i got idea from reading an email i got but it will wait until tomorrow (or later today...) to put it in Citizens pages. It depends a bit what later gets planned for weekend, but if nothing else appears i will just be home with Mr Bear and other happy hugfriends, eat maybe some candies, *hug* a lot, and continue writing webthings for both Citizens pages and homepage. March 17 15:17 Mmm, hugbears are waiting for me on cozy bed, i just ate a huge sandwich and feel lazy so i think i go there and keep hugfriends company. It is always so nice to be a bit lazy with hugbears close. Ofcourse cats and dogs can be great hugfriends too, but i dont have any pet. Today i got a DVD it is an old drama movie i saw second half of in tv some week ago and wanted it. Then i realised perhaps it is possible to find almost any movie in Internet, same as one can find almost anything else to buy in big or small Internet shops. So i first went to the usual eBay wich has just about everything... yes i found another old classic love story movie on DVD, from some big movie shop in USA specializing in hard to find movies. It was all 3 movies, on 2 dvd, but laugnage says French and they are NTSC with i know isnt my tv we have PAL in Europe. But i will probably get those discs anyway to collection, because if i am lucky the voices arent french only text, and voices are German wich i understand better it is a bit similar to Swedish actually. And who cares about NTSC or PAL, i dont think my computer will care as movies are played in a computer program. Or does it? I assume the computer program will play any DVD, send movie to tv and thats it. Well if it doesnt work i learn something... I will add more links to useful places i find to Portal later. March 16 21:03 I just realised i havent eaten any dinner today. I better do that now then. If i dont eat then maybe i dont have energy for computer creativity tomorrow, that wouldnt be any good. March 16 18:27 Now when Lady Bear is home from traveling the world, i have to wear long dresses all the time. I dont mind mostly, they are pretty and perfect for a Princess like me. But when i get warm i dont want to wear them, i just wonder how it will be in summer and sunshine... last summer Mr Bear didnt mind me wearing 'commoner' clothes like a short skirt and top. But now Lady Bear says i shouldnt. I can wear other proper clothes when modeling, sporting or studying, but other time it's not an option what i wear. I hope if i get very warm in summer she changes her mind, but maybe i just have to buy or sew some lighter gowns for summer wear. I think light colours also help make sunshine not warm too much, as everyone knows black catches more warm sun than white. So i will have to sew some gowns from my light fabrics, lght blue, light yellow, light pink, light purple, and white. Now i will just open a window to get fresh air, rest a while in sofa, maybe watch tv a little, then use brain in computer corner. Using brain at least doesnt make body much warmer... March 16 16:11 First little update only for Citizens, three photos from today and some information about the first Story Writing Competition wich will be April 1 to April 30, but some who like the Happy World may want to get an early start. Winner award will be minimum 100$ to best Story Writer. March 16 14:57 I made some photos that will be in Citizens pages soon, one is Mr Bear working in his Tax Office. He has a really nice work office, it is on his green fluffy pillow in a sofa corner. I think he has a nicer office than most people, it is even nicer than my 'work' place wich would perhaps be the computer corner for now. Also there are three photos with me and hugbears in our new supernice cozy bed with the new bedthings. I just love the new flowery white silk bedthings and hugbears were very happy with new things too. Oh well back to the Photoshop program to make my photos, they are also as a bit of inspiration for the first competition, wich will be a story writing competition. Citizens can win really nice first award if they are voted the best story writer, anyone else is also welcome to write a story but only Citizens who pay taxes to Mr Bear can win the award. If there is a lot of interesting stories written, there might be a monthly story competition with great winner prizes because we like imagination and fantasies in the Happy World. March 15 19:16 I am a bit tired... i went out for a long walk last hours and had no idea the weather would be so annoying. It is warm winter today, just around freeqing point but snow is wet and sloshy everywhere. Very windy too. So some places it was like a winter storm with a bit of frozen raindrops blowing in the face, not nice. And then some other places there was no wind and warm. Great then... i dressed warmly because i knew it was very windy outside. But walking a long way and having weather change from cold to warm to cold a few times, i got too warm. I cant wait until spring comes here. Mr Bear had sent me to get a nicer chair for computer corner, he is kind Mr Bear and thinks of me being comfortable. *hug* I think if Mr Bear too, i made the green fluffy pillow for him. Anyway, i went to get a nice office sort of chair for computer corner, one of those black standard leather things. I read in advertising they drive them home, so i thought to just walk there, get some fresh air (i got too much) and say i want one of those chairs appear at my castle. But i was a bit late, they only deliver things Mondays and Thursdays, wich means i will get mine in three days... oh well, guess i can wait. Mr Bear thought that since i will spend more time in computer corner with Happy World, it has to be nice there. Later i will probably get one of those portable computers so i can use it for writing emails and chat with Citizens from our cozy sofa or anywhere. Anywhere? Well i am no computer expert but i know there are wireless networks, and those small computers have batteries. First there are other things to do though. Now first i am going to eat a sandwich to get back energy the annoying winter weather took from me, then watch tv news, than to computer corner and try to be creative. Since Mr Bear not yet had his own office open and nowhere to write what he could have to share, he just told me to send big *hugs* to all early Citizens who moved in to the Happy World. Basicly it has to be there so i dont have to worry about obligations or anything related to the real world. It may seem like a lot of text and it is, but it is mostly taken from my older Fan Site and the short short version of it is: If you pay taxes to Mr Bear, he wont give them back unless he wants to give you moneys. March 12 16:10 One thing fixed at least... the live picture viewer counter works again. I had written a 'p' instead of a 'b' on one line telling a computer to count viewers every minute. Computers dont like mistypes, but at least i found it... March 12 15:38 I just realized something positive when relaxing in a warm bubble bath the latest hour. My homepage hasnt moved to the new troublesome web computer, and the directory where i first was going to keep Citizens things is still there. So if i just create those things i want around here then scripts shouldnt be such a problem as they are on the new web computer. Then i can at least focus brain on problems when trying to create some ideas instead of overheating my brain when things that should work dont... And i figured out there in the nice bath, i can move the Citizen pages to princesstessy.com later if or when the technical things work well there. Let's just say i really dont want to spend weekend with boring things, i want to do funny things. That is both good and bad to discover. I read a long time ago CGI scripts are sensitive to wich new-line codes are used, the invisible 'letters' that mark a new line i a text file. So, there are different newlines for Windows and Linux. Now the stupid thing... when moving webthings, it was all packed into a big file, moved to new place, then unpacked. Almost like moving from a home to another packing furnitures and things. Well, most things work after the move, but not all. And the bad thing discovered today is that... when Debian Linux had no problems with Windows newlines in scripts, the new Red Hat Linux just gives errors forever no matter how i try. The only way i can even edit an old script is using a Linux text editor (Emacs) on the new webcomputer, because if i try anything else the script editing will just give errors. I am now so annoyed with webpage moving surprises, i think about moving back to where things worked. Oh well... maybe i find more solutions. Today i will anyway open some first Citizen things, at least i can get the streaming live picture working that doesnt have any stupid scripts to work. March 11 21:57 Still some strange things to figure out with moved webthings, but at least now most things are working so i will leave it until tomorrow or later... i figured out if i dont mess with things now things cant get worse. Like now i think the weather thingy in my live window works again, but the viewet counter doesnt work. Mmm, so nice. I got some new sets of bedclothing things yesterday and also extra pillowcases for the two royal hugbears. I had to hide the pillows from hugbears one day until pillowcases got here, but yesterday the too got here and i could give Mr Bear and Lady Bear their own cozy sleeping pillows. They were soooo happy. I think the best thing a hugbear can get is a friendly *hug* and second best is a pillow. I didnt get a new pillow for me, but i too now have new bedthings maybe some regular live camera watchers notice today flowery white silk blanket and lighter pink silk sheets it was nice to sleep in bed and looks nice too. Probably looks extra nice because there are two happy hugbears in my cozy bed they dont want to get up at all now when they got their own nice pillows. *hug* Mr Bear's big green fluffy pillow wich i made for him had now moved to cozy sofa. I searched all the Internet and it seems nobody has a clear answer to the problem or exactly what causes it. Very annoying. March 10 00:05 I had a little headache all day, it wasnt so bad but it got worse after dinner. So as usual with headaches i dont want to be in computer corner, monitors dont make headaches any better. I tried resting with Mr Bear all evening, his magic soft paws usually help headaches go away but not always, and today he couldnt help. March 08 23:13 This is a bit silly... i got things to make yummy waffles this evening, one ingredient needed to make those is eggs. So i got 6 in a package. But three of them were broken and had made all 6 eggs stuck in the packaging. It seems egg is good for glueing when it gets a little time to dry... Anyway, i needed two and three were not broken, so i tried to get one out and it broke too. The last two eggs i decided to do a bit of emergency rescue on, i cut them free from packaging with a knife. They could be used after the rescue no problem, so i got to make waffles and they were sooooo yummy. I havent made those in a few months. Mr Bear wants to watch tv in night, Lady Bear is tired and want to sleep. Maybe we watch tv it is always nice to be with Mr Bear and do things. Or maybe i get too tired, who knows. March 07 21:08 I am so tired of computer now, there is some tricky things i have to try and figure out before i can begin creating Citizens webthings and whatever else fun. Maybe some remember i wrote about Linux once earlier, how i spent several days searching Internet and learning this and that about it so the Happy World could get its own webserver computer brainy. Well, i did learn what i needed about Debian Linux and got it to work. Now... the webthings are going to move to a big data center in USA but that server is Red Hat Enterprise Linux and they arent exactly the same. One stupid thing is the text editor i used for changing configuration files isnt there so i have to use another, wich i can do now at last... Worse problem is that the new server has another FTP serving program, wich doesnt respond without editing things and because things are different maybe i have to spend a whole day to figure that out as i did some months ago... guess i will be really tired of computer geek things soon... but it will be good when finished. Learning is mostly not a bad thing, so today has not been wasted anyway. While searching for information and this and that, i actually learned a bit about how easy it would be to start a 'webhosting business' and also how they actually make profits. So? Well, short explanation... the big data center wich now has a Happy World brain waiting to serve webthings, has almost 20 thousand computers connected to Internet, all of them rented by various people. They offer lots of things for quite little moneys, but the way they make profits is actually because very very few actually uses up all the capacity that the data center offers. No more blobbering about that, not much interesting only a little that is why i read about those things before i continued searching for information. Now i better eat something, then i think hugbears need lots of *hugs* and *hugs* But i will maybe try and learn about the stupid new FTP thingy too, then i could sleep and have less boring things to do tomorrow. He is so great Mr Bear i think he had to spend many hours with his furry paws and Photoshop to put together this photo with me and him. *hugs* We decided to make my strict Governess unemployed after she gave me that harsh punishment, we prefer nice *hugs* in the Happy World and everyone knows i am a perfect Lady anyway. *giggles* March 04 21:38 This looks like an interesting place to get an apartment, very original architecture and it seems the build it with good service too. The site is in english too, so if you too are interested in an apartment in south of Sweden go have a look maybe we become neighbours in future! There are places from about 50 to 160 square meters, 1 to 4 rooms, cost 2-15 million SEK wich is about 250.000$ to 2 million US dollars. Apartment cleaning service, laundry service, party area, rentable extra guest rooms, private wine cellar for those who collect wine bottles and other nice things. What i like most is probably the design, i just noticed there is a webcamera looking at the construction i will keep an eye on it in future. I read people can probably move in to the building around spring 2005, i have no idea yet if there are any apartments available maybe everyone is booked. Mr Bear looked with me at some photos and we both think it looks very high to live on the top floors. Mr Bear prefers to stay close to ground and i think i agree with that. Oh well... who knows where we go in future. March 04 14:05 Mr Bear and Lady Bear are extra happy today. Maybe someone wonder why... well, the royal hugbears spend lots of time in my cozy bed so they think it is an important place to keep nice. Today we looked at nice bedthings and put a big order for new cozy things. I tried to get things that are both mine and the hugbears taste, so there is a bit of pink and a bit of white and blue too so Mr Bear doesnt always have to sleep in a girly pink bed. Someday soon i will also get new pillows so we can have one each, and Mr Bear's big green fluffy pillow can stay in our cozy sofa. I really like to make my hugfriends happy, and i will be happy too when we have new bedthings because i spend lots of hours in cozy bed too. Well i guess you could see new things and all that later... i have also looked at some new better webcamera things, for Citizens only. It depends what Citizens later are most interested in if i bother to get a new super professional webcam. They cost a lot and Mr Bear says we could buy 30 nice pillows instead of a new better webcam... i think Mr Bear likes cozy pillows. *hug* Hmm, maybe with new bedthings the bed corner gets a better place to make photos than photo studio wich is still not much interesting only black fabric everywhere... that was built last summer, still very little use of it. Oh well... wait and see, photo studio was built to be used. Sun is shining outside, i think i go out for a walk. March 03 22:34 At last the Paypal thing seems to work. Now i just have to do one script edit so it sends an email with important information to new Citizens, then i can get busy creating some new webpages. Maybe after i get some Citizens webpages done i can also make a more finished homepage, it seems to have never got finished... and yes, the text about a serious Princess i wrote in email news is serious. Wich means i take the comment on the linked page with my new Midnight Blue Cozy Cloak more serious than any email or comment about wearing slutty clothes or getting naked. In fact, a photo with the new cozy cloak may be one of the first new photos i make for Citizens webpages. March 03 15:57 I found a very pretty little thing in eBay and placed a bid in the auction today. I cant show what it is now, then maybe more bidders make price go up more than if i keep the auction a secret... The little thing will be in a photo sometime later though. March 03 15:27 This is the link for those that want to help me test Paypal for Happy World Taxes. All payments will get refunded so it doesnt cost anything. When things work the way i want, the test page will dissapear and i will start creating Citizens webpages. Then later you can really pay taxes to Mr Bear and he will be happy to have the important tax collector work to do again. We will use Dollars instead of Euro, because the payment script apparently doesnt work with Yen, Euro or UK Pounds without editing it. So ofcourse my clever, but not super-computer-clever head says... use dollars = no need to try and get script to work with Euro. It doesnt matter to me if dollars are less value than Euro, Mr Bear doesnt mind either he just wants some taxes to count doesnt really matter how many moneys. Many things are forgotten after we see a tv program on maybe the Discovery channel, but it is often interesting anyway.
