Princess Tessy - The Princess Diary - December 2004
December 29 21:34 This seems like it could be a fun game. I will add some links and things about it later, now i am a bit busy with New Year planning and such. Hope everyone has nice days. *hugs*
December 29 12:48 So there, today i went to city and adventured into the geeky game shop. Adventure? Well, it was full of kids and other people, outside it said up to 50% off prices... i guess that is why the shop was a bit crowded. Anyway i bought Everquest 2, it was full price but i didnt expect anything else anyway. I really need it to not think too much about what the news repeat all day and night. But i do think about all those unfortunate people in Asia who were surprised by a tsunami wave from that earthquake. I donated about the same amount of moneys to the red cross people outside the shopping centre, 500 swedish kronor or a bit less than 100$. Its not a fortune, but i hope that people in general and governments around the world in particular do their best to help in any way possible. I also wished the girl collecting moneys for the red cross a Happy New Year... U cant allow myself (or the Happy World) get too gloomy. Now i'm off to try that game. It was on 2 dvd discs that seems huge. Anyway, it would be fun to play that game with some others from around here. We will have to play on the same server and such, but i will test a little first.
December 28 19:03 I dont know what to write about. Surely not about the happenings around there in south east Asia its on the news all the time and makes it difficult for me and hugfriends to smile. Lots of people from Sweden were in Thailand for some winter sunshine, many of them wont come back home. But me and hugbears hug each other, look at our sparkly little christmas tree, and try to think about positive things. Also we think about nice christmas greetings we found in email, thank you all. *hugs* I will try and write emails back soon. Mr Bear usually wants to see the tv news and i often see it with him, but today im not sure we want to see the news reporters make such a big deal with the Numbers... well you know the numbers. You know, after about 10 victims of tragedy it gets impossible to grasp through the little tv anyways. I got such bad feelings when i saw a little bird get run over by a car this year, it was just playing around with its friends. And a hedgehog massacre on the same road once i think three of the poor animals were lying there, on the road i sometimes walk along to carry home food for our kitchen. So no i dont want to see the news. I think we should watch the Care Bears movie instead. Mr Bear and Lady Bear thought it was a super nice christmas gift and they also want to see it.
December 26 22:37 Meep Meep!
December 24 14:57 In Sweden we celebrate Christmas today, but i know many countries (perhaps most) celebrate it tomorrow in Christmas Day. Anyway here is a huuuuge *HUG* from me and all the hugfriends in the Happy World. We wish everyone some nice days whatever you do and wherever in the world you are.
December 24 00:25 Me and hugbears are watching a tv program from UK about christmases from hell. Its about all the hysteria and sometimes problems that appear around christmas and is sort of fun to watch. Because its all so silly in some way, the hunting for gifts and whatever else. Anyway me and hugbears wish everyone nice days, we will just relax, eat yummy food, have lots of nice hugs and smile a lot. Now back to see parents hunting for Furby toys earlier years when those were popular, it seems some did almost anything to get one for their children... i wonder if something is that super-popular for childrens christmas gifts this year. Maybe there is something new that everyone wants every year. Dont forget the *hugs*
December 22 22:51 It seems me and hugbears have little creative energy lately, i dont know why maybe it is the winter darkness or too little eating. If we need food energy i think Christmas dinner will solve the tiredness. Anyway i read a lot about that Everquest 2 game and even if i didnt get it today maybe i will tomorrow. So i have some game to play until next summer. It also has some monthly subscription cost but Mr Bear says that is fine if it is a fun game to play. *hug* We slept most of today and now i cant do that anymore, i have to get day hours normal quickly for Christmas. I cant sleep away all of that day, and i still havent put any nice gift wrapping on the gift for my hugfriends. So tomorrow i better not sleep much... Anyway the weather today has been no fun, i heard about it in tv lately and today heard it through windows it has been a very windy storm today. So it was probably a good day to stay in cozy bed anyway.
December 21 22:22 I will go get that Everquest 2 game tomorrow, i just have to dive in there and do some adventuring and crafting. I read about problems with particularly my new super graphics card, but i think i can manage until Sony fixes with an update. What seems fun is a possibility to create Guilds wich i think means the Happy World could be a group, and then me and others who want to play together and help each other could join it. I think then everyone has to play on the same server and such, and time differences could make it tricky to meet in the game. But it could be sort of fun. We have to be 6 players to register a guild though, so i cant do that alone. Anyway i read sometimes in version 1 of that game lower level players sometimes got kicked out from guilds with high leverl players. Well i dont think we would do that to new friends in our group... instead we would help them learn things and advance in the game. Oh well, it seems like a fun place to spend too much time.
December 21 17:55 What i sort of think i like about Everquest 2, is that there seems to possible to not do much regular kill-the-monsters playing, but instead crafting things and buying/selling things. I dont know much how it works or so, but i am reading and it seems like it could be fun. Similar to Second Life i assume one can meet other people in there and perhaps make friends and such too. I like the idea that perhaps i could just become a great crafting person in that gaming world, even more crafty than in the Happy World since i cant create anything here. I would guess a lot of crafting is about making things the adventurers need like armours and weapons. But it seems also possible to create magical items, and a fun thing i read is Culinary wich i assumed is crafting of Food items for others. I will snoop about that game more it seems interesting.
December 21 17:26 On another note, i am thinking to play Everquest 2 or something like that until Oblivion comes here. Or buy the Morrowind game box with the expansions too, because i didnt really finish the first game and never tried the expansions. Anyways... adding the Half Life 2 demo to the Happy World will take time (2 hours) because it is a 750Mb file and there is some strange speed limit then i send the file to webserver.
December 21 17:21 Hmm, we are so tired here lately i dont know why. At least its one of the nicest thing me and hugfriends know, to be in the cozy bed and have our noses close in a group hug. Yesterday the only serious thing i did was to rescue things from the now unused harddrive, and as i suspected that was where i had copied all photos from digital camera as a backup. So now the hundreds of missing photos are gathered and it was worth the trouble of connecting the scsi card and things temporarily. Today i just saw there is a demo from the Half Life 2 game released so i will add it to the little gaming page for those who want to try it before deciding to buy or not. I know some people just pirate games and movies and music and whatever they can find as files, but then there are also honest people who dont do that. Myself i actually saved a 3.45Gb (yes you read correctly, 3.45 Gigabytes!) dvd iso file to see if i could use a copied game with my paid for cd key to play Far Cry again. My dvd disc got broken so it couldnt be read. Anyway it works, but sometimes there are hickups with controls and the keyboard and mouse just stop working. That is probably from the kvm switch thingy, but i guess it could also be from some problem with a copied game. Anyway there is a lot of keyboard activity and mouse movement in such shooting games maybe its just too much for the things i have to now be able to use two computers from my room. But i dont care too much for now... i will just forget that game. I could play Sim City 4 again that is more my type of game with building and strategy and no focus on violence. For those curious about Half Life 2, i played it to the end a long time ago. I got to the top of the Citadel but once up there it was just confusing and i didnt know what to do really... so i died and then i didnt feel like trying again. Guess that means i didnt really see the end, but i read about it in forums and dont care much. About live camera i dont know when it comes back... somehow me and hugbears dont feel like being watched lately i think. But if i skip testing a huge live picture we may appear this evening who knows. Im not sure there is any point in a big live picture anyway, it would be really slow for every modem user and since the point of a live picture is that it updates, i think its better with a standard size like in my homepage. I will test a big live image sometime, but maybe not before christmas or even this year. But there are a lot of older live pictures i might begin sorting and sharing with Citizens, perhaps even before next year.
December 20 15:15 I found a better photo so the sparkles are visible too.
December 20 15:10 Welcome back *hugs* to our little sparkling christmas tree. *hug* *hug* *hug* I will take it to my room this evening or tomorrow but i want live camera to work first so for now it is only here in a picture from last year.
December 20 15:05 I was beginning to feel sort of like doing nothing, and once again i end up sleeping half the day and being awake until late in nights. So it was good that two of the dvd movies i won from eBay auctions got here today. I dont plan to watch any of them today, but one of the two was the Care Bears movie i will give to Mr Bear and Lady Bear. I know they will like their gift with positive and heroic bears, i will smile a lot watching it with them later also so its a little christmas gift for me too. And seriously, what is a better gift to others than giving them an honest big smile? For us here that is mostly what Christmas is about. Feeling happy and just... being that way. That is how the Happy World should be all the time ofcourse, but somehow we have ended up making December a month to be extra happy. Anyway i know there will be chaos in the city rest of this week... so many are looking for gifts here and there. I say to anyone who cant figure out what to give someone they care about, give them a big Hug! And also another great gift wich i got from my mother the latest christmas'es is a nice card wich says she has donated moneys to somewhere useful in my honor. I think that is also a gift that would make any serious and thoughtful person warm and smiley inside. I actually suggested that as a gift some year ago, and it appears mom thought too it is a good idea. Ofcourse some people not see the point with getting a nice christmas card with a donation written on it. But since its the thoughts that count, think that one such gift could help make christmas positive for a lot of homeless people. Or it could help unfortunate people in poor countries get water and other help. Well, i think you see the point. A lot of gifts we give each other in rich countries are just... a waste of resources. And i think it makes christmas be too much of what it isnt about. So give people 'thoughts and caring' instead of just 'things'. It is also a lot nicer to create a gift yourself for someone if you can sew, paint, write music or whatever. And there are always the Hugs. Anyone who doesnt appreciate a friendly hug for a gift isnt worth getting anything. Mr Santa does keep track of who are nice people and who are not. Anyway now i have to find some nice paper and things to hide the Care Bears surprise from my two hugbears.
December 19 01:14 A yummy late night sandwich is always nice. Mr Bear think so too. *hug*
December 18 20:14 After some searching that problem was solved. I stumbled into some discussion forums that were more about removing the dvd region limit thing from drives. But anyway, Samsung has some automatic little program that checks for drives and if there is a newer firmware (i guess like a hardware driver thingy) then it downloads it and... well, i read my firmware went from 100 to 105 and now the drive can read my recorded dvd. Internet is useful sometimes...
December 18 19:52 Computer annoyances never end, that is a fact... now i just tried to read a recorded dvd disc in computer 2 wich has the dvd-rom drive i used some time. It isnt old or anything, but it cant read this type of dvd recordable discs. It can read dvd minus r discs, but not the dvd plus r discs. Hmm? Guess i should have got dvd-r discs then... oh well, no reason to get upset i was just thinking to test a good recording by reading a whole disc on the other computer. Guess if i want some recorded things readable on both computer brains i better get some dvd minus r discs too.
December 18 17:44 By the way, one thing i cant understand is that my new dvd recorder can (apparently) write dvdr discs with 16x speed, but only read recorded discs with 8x speed. Hmm? It can read dvd-rom with 16x speed, but not my own recorded discs. Oh well who cares... i just find it a bit strange.
December 18 17:28 I just got this nice idea, because i know some people like this, and some people like that. Some people want me to be myself, some want me to be funny, some want me to be sexy. But all those things really dont go together always. So me and the little webmaster will make it so Citizens later can select their preferences, and that will then permanently give access to this or that part of photos and stories and such future things. That way everyone can live in the Happy World and have fun, me included! I will ofcouse have to plan that carefully, but its a neat idea i think. That way also nobody will stumble into things they dont think fits in their vision of the Happy World. This idea may make things take a bit longer to get started again but... those who wait will see i guess. If i can be bothered. Anyway i will see if the hundreds of missing photos are on the old fast not-used harddrive so i can rescue them. That fast harddrive is only 8Gb and was ment to be used for music things but somehow that never happened. Wich is a waste since i remember it cost a lot... oh well, technology evolves faster than my music writing apparently. And faster than i realised dvd recorders now cost less than the also a bit older fast scsi cd writer wich also was expensive when i got it. Now its just a bit old and i havent even used it for much. But dont get upset about such things, because i might actually give away 'old' things to tax paying Happy World Citizens later. Just to be kind, perhaps someone have better use for them. Also in computer thingy 'leftovers' is a 4 port 10Mbit Hub and 512Mb PC133 memory. Oh well time for some fun...
December 18 13:46 And finally it works. I also switched to the new keyboard so i get used to it, some keys mainly D and F on it appear a bit unsensitive compared to the rest but i guess i just have to press they keys seriously and not too lazily. Anyway with that little signal amplifier box from Belkin connected to the kvm switch outside my room at least the keyboard gets the power it needs. It says possible with up to 70 meter cables or so, wich means 10 meter should be fine. Well, there is maybe 1.5 meter cable also on the keybord itself, and now also 2 extra meters added just to get a male male connector... But now they keyboard doesnt stop working if i accidently press the Caps LOCK KEY LIKE THIS. And also it works fine to switch between using computer brainy 1 or 2 with keyboard. So i dont have to walk out of my room anymore to change computer using on the switch itself. Now all i have to find is the settings for starting computers also with a keybord button press. I know that is possible on computer 2 and it should also be possible on the newever brain nr 1. Oh well... maybe some webthings begin to happen around here soon then.
December 18 11:48 The most silly thing is about these new computer thingys is... there are such special cables in one of the shops i ordered from. It costs less than 5$, but i didnt know i needed one. Now the little computer shop i thought to use instead of a local big one with lousy lazy service staff this last summer (snoop in older diary notes to know...) i will have late breakfast then jump into a taxi and go get a stupid keyboard cable. See how serious i am to get computer things working so Happy World Citizens can visit me and hugbears around Christmas and New Year? *hugs* Nothing can stop me. This stupid cable will cost 10 times more than the cheap one i could order from an internet shop, but that one would most likely get here after christmas... And i need both computer working nicely. I am so fed up with computer annoyances... At least the dvd recorder seems to work fine.
December 17 20:39 The special little keyboard extender box needs two 'male' cables going to it. I dont think they mentioned that in any descriptions of it... since it is ment to be somewhere in the middle of long extended cables anyone would assume one male and one female connector on it. That is how normal extension cables are anyway. But noooo... they had to make things complicated. Stupid. I will phone some computer shop tomorrow and ask about an adapter or a short male/male keyboard cable to solve that sillyness. Anyway now me and the little webmaster can put in the new dvd recorder in my first computer brainy, so at least i can see if there is any difference after installing proper webcamera drivers. And i could make a computer backup to replace the older in bank vault. Well that is if things work as they should... who knows.
December 17 16:56 Me and Mr Bear just had a snoop in the internet shopping window of a fun shop that sells costume and party things. I found lots of useful little bits and pieces for future photo fun and such Mr Bear think some of my ideas are really cool. *hugs* But seriously that will mostly be for Citizens because Mr Bear will go back to work next year. We are already fluffing his nice green pillow so it is really comfy to sit on. Mr Bear deserves the nicest work office possible. *hugs* I will try the MS gaming zone or whatever it was named this weekend. Because if it works with FireFox too then that will be a neat place for playing games and also same time chat a little in the chatting windows. Any Citizen who is perhaps an expert with Chess or Back Gammon will ofcourse have to be a little gentle with me because i sure am no expert with chess... But i do have a brain. Anyway i will have a look there later. I sort of thought i could make some sort of calendar with some times some days when Citizens could mark they want to play some game and say hello or so.
December 17 12:24 Good morning. *hugs* Interesting, it seems both the computer thingy packages i ordered are now 'on the way to the local service place' wich should mean i could pay for them this evening. Except i havent got the little papers for doing that, as ususal. Its really strange with swedish post service, because every time i order something and have tracking number i see the package get here one day, but the paperwork for payments and such always say i can get the package the following day. How silly is that? Ok i admit mostly it isnt something people would care about, but if someone wants or needs something quickly that is just stupid. Likw now. I will go to get the things in evening with only package numbers, the rest should be in their computers anyway they can print something there for me to sign... i am also sure they want to empty their areas for packages quickly now because there is apparently a lot of things traveling around before Christmas.
December 16 23:58 I think i will actually try and fix my homepage over weekend instead of the live camera things, because the things i ordered for computer brainy wont get here until next week i guess. But now its time for bed soon i think, good night. *hugs*
December 16 23:17 We saw second part of a documentary about Saudi Arabia and their relation to the USA in the past. It was actually quite interesting. Makes for interesting (and possibly scary) knowledge considering the current situation in Iraq. Did everyone know that Saudi Arabia actually paid for the American liveration of Kuwait? About 50 billion dollars, it made Saudi Arabia go from rich to actually getting a national debt. Anyway it's mostly all about the oil... what a stupid world we live in. Sometimes i wish humans werent such a dominant species on our planet.
December 16 16:39 This is ridiculous, swedish postal service is way too slow this month... so far this week tracking only shows they picked up the packages coming to me and 'sorted them at the incoming termninal'... after that, nothing. Hmm, i'm a Princess i should call those offices, have them find my computer thingys, drive them to the airport and fly them here... in a pricate jet, perhaps Mr Trump could lend me his jet some days. Oh well, if i had used by clever brain more before ordering things i could have visited a computer shop here instead. Except the little box thingy is apparently way too special to be found anywhere except one distributor. Anyway me and hugbears all got so sleepy in the middle of day that we decided to hide under the bed covers and have lots of warm *hugs* It was so nice to sleep and *hug* and think happy thoughts.
December 15 21:30 I went to the food shop this evening, for some food bits and i also happened to see the shelf full of christmas candies and chocolates... guess who carried home almost a whole bag of candies. And still i bet half of it will be gone after the weekend. But i will refill our christmas *grompf* candy cupboard soon so there is enough for us all until New Year almost. We are especially fond of some green big jelly balls that are so yummy. But now i also found a box with smaller mixed jellies and one sort tastes of Mango fruit mmmmm... Even Lady Bear stops being such a lady when we *grompf* yummylicious candies together. I bet we will all be serious couch potatoes next week... But we also still have to take up the little sparkling christmas tree to my room. I have actually let it stay down in storage room so you who like the Happy World can visit then we begin Christmas days here. So i guess we shouldnt have started *grompf* eating christmas candies today but i think we deserve it. Mmm.
December 15 17:07 I just had a nice warm bubbly bath. And now its time for some nice warm *hugs* with my hugfriends.
December 15 12:52 Post service seems to be slow this week, i guess lots of postcards and packages are trying to get to their destinations before Christmas. Oh well, i will keep looking at the tracking information and see if the little webmaster and me can make our computer brains happy this weekend. Well i also have to do some more research about the webcam 32 program, i know its possible to customize the 'please wait while loading' image and i want to do that. They usual grey is just booooring. Ofcourse to be kind to people with slower Internet that image should just be as small size as possible. But since i will now test a real 640x480 live image that isnt a concern. Also that is perhaps cached in a webpage browser after first loading, or those Java files perhaps are. Oh well i dont know, but its actually sort of tricky to do. The two images to change are in the webcam 32 folder, but those arent the ones to change... the ones to change is *inside* the Java files. WinZip is needed for updating one of the files, some totally unknown Cab software is needed to edit inside a .cab file. Oh well... i will try to explain these things in detail on the new live camera site. *hugs*
December 15 00:28 I won the dvd auctions i wanted, i just stayed awake to try and make sure i did. I guess i need some good luck to get the Care Bears movie here before christmas. But if then we will just watch it later, its a christmas gift even if my hugfriends get it some day late. Anyway i also hope those computer thingys get here before weekend so i can get some order with things, and also try the new webcamera more i think it needs its own drivers installed, and for that i need the dvd recorder. And that other little box is also needed, so i can use both computer brains from my room. But now its bedtime, waiting for post services to do their job i dont have to be awake for that. The hugbears look a bit tired too so we will go to bed. Also i dont want to sleep too long tomorrow, so another good reason to try and sleep right away. Hope everyone has nice days. *hugs*
December 14 13:54 I feel so happy today. Me and hugbears slept long and i think it was because Mr Bear guarded the outside of our cozy bed, it is extra nice to wake up then thinks me and Lady Bear. With a big Mr Bear keeping us ladies safe. But i waked up early in morning too and got a bit scared, because Mr Bear wasnt there on his half of my pillow! Where was he? I thought he had fallen off the bed and felt so bad and quickly looked on the floor. But luckily Mr Bear wasnt hiding there, he and Lady Bear had just hidden under the bed covers while we all had nice *hugs* in the evening. So i just didnt see them. But they waked up a little when i moved around, and then they both stopped hiding under the warm blanket. I think Mr Bear saw i was worried, we all had a nice group hug and then we slept some more. I saw some hugbear websites yesterday and i just wanted to save so many friendly bears. We need to get a guest room for happy bears later.
December 13 22:18 National Treasure was really good movie i think, sort of modern treasure hunt.
December 13 18:51 Me and hugbears will watch some new movies today or later in week, Princess Diaries 2 wich i am sure is fun and worth watching. And also National Treasure, wich i guess could be a good adventure action movie.
December 13 15:58 Oh i found something that could be a nice christmas gift for Mr Bear and Lady Bear. They will have to share it with me then but i dont think they mind. Its the Care Bear's Movie, i saw those friendly cartoon bears some few mornings in tv and both hugbears thought they were great. I have sort of wondered what to give my hugfriends this christmas since i got sleeping pillows for them last year. If i decide to get that dvd for my hugfriends, seriously nobody else on eBay will bid over me... because i have a feeling the movie will make all of us here smile a lot when we watch it.
December 13 15:39 Great, i found two movies on eBay that i want on dvd. Also nice that those are from a seller in UK so they dont have to travel all the way over the big sea. One is an ice skating movie and the other is sort of a romantic drama i just remembered it from a late tv evening and made a search.
December 13 14:51 The little keyboard cable amplifier has left the warehouse, i read 1-2 days to get it in stock but i guess i was lucky. Maybe i have it before next weekend that would be great. Well, it will be great if it works as expected so i can use both computers easily from my room, and not get any keyboard hickups they dont happen often but annoying every time anyway.
December 13 11:13 The webcamera program crashes sometimes, and FireFox browser needs 20% of a 2.8GHz processor to show the 640x480 live updating image... Snoop at the link to see how it can look like, i saved two pictures. I think the live image will be on the second computer, perhaps if i dont need to use Photoshop, listen to music or even play a computer game on same computer it doesnt stop working. Anyway so that version of the live camera requires lots of computer brain power and bandwidth, i am sorry but i have no idea how it will work for modem users or computer with under 1GHz of processor. Its not open yet for all you people, but when things are ready that place will go live.
December 12 19:25 Someone asked, and i will test new live camera things closer to next weekend. It will be a huge 640x480 image, and some older live pictures.
December 12 17:42 I just realised, maybe the mousie works fine with long cables, because it is wireless and has batteries inside... So connected to cables is only some little receiver thingy, wich probably doesnt need much electricity. Could be why the mousie works with 0 errors also with kvm switch added, but the keyboards are really close to not working, and sometimes just give up. So much researching today, but i think it means the computer worries are soon over and i can just stop caring about those things for a year or two. Unless something breaks...
December 12 17:33 Now i am happy, after searching and searching forever i finally found one Swedish computer shop on the Internet that sells that little Belkin box i think we need. I just tested with the new (with two lazy buttons) keyboard connected directly to the kvm switch outside my room and then everything worked fine. Easy to switch between the two computers and no sudden loss of keyboard when it has to light up a little lamp. The link goes to swedish place wich has it listed and can get it delivered. I only get one for the keyboard because the little mousie seems to work fine with 10 meter cables and the new kvm switch.
December 12 14:56 I probably found exactly what i need for the kvm switch to solve the new 'too little power' problem with keyboard, wich stops working if i accidently use the Caps Lock or whatever button that wants to light a lamp on keyboard. It seems that little device can take care of a keyboard really far away. Should be perfect for people like me who prefer having noisy computers outside their room. I will search some more on that after the bath, one Swedish company had something similar but that one cost a lot more. I also thought to try with USB cables and converters and whatever... But that little box should do the trick simpler.
December 12 14:22 Now i am completely tired of being in computer corner for a while, a warm bath would be nice.
December 12 13:53 I made it work! And after the reading i myself understand how simple the problem is... fix it Surveyor, its easier to fix the program than to have to work around it. So what is wrong? Well apparently the WebCam 32 program sends bad http headers wich makes new Sun Java not like it. So the way to solve this error in WebCam 32 (without them bothering updating their software... argh!) is to install a webserver and let that send the Java applet with correct http headers. That works. Its just so annoying, but lickily there are some people out there on the Internet who are more clever than the software companies who just want their moneys. I will write a detailed page about this later. It is a tricky fix, but it works, and even if i wouldnt advice anyone to bother with it its probably the only way to have streaming work well with all new web browsers. At least i managed to follow the instructions.
December 12 13:27 'Why can't you Surveyor Corp guys write a new applet that will work with the new Sun Java? or do what ever it takes to let Webcam32 work without having to use the MSJVM to view the applets.' someone at the forum answered... 'That request has been discussed many times in the past post, and it ain't gonna happen. If you want to use webcam32, you will just have to use some of the work arounds also previously posted.' ... Okey that is just lame, get your fingers out Surveyor and write a new Java Applet for the software we bought. That company seems to care about as much about its customers as Microsoft does...
December 12 12:52 One major problem to solve... the WebCam 32 program doesnt have Java streaming that works with standard Sun Java. It only works with the Microsoft Java, wich only works in IE, wich i personally dont use any more after the stupid adware and spyware intrusions. The company that created this program better fix this, i will do some more searching about this but if there isnt a fix somewhere, i will write and demand Java that works with proper standards. If this cant work i would have to try Real Media or something for camera streaming later, because its not so cool if that only works for some people and not others.
December 12 11:52 At least now i read there isnt really any difference between dvd r and the dvd-r they are just competing standards of discs that both are around. I had to Google about it but its easy to find answers Google is useful for many things. I decided on some Samsun recorder it can also record dual layer discs that i read about earlier, i wont get those discs i dont think i need 8Gb per disc anyway... I think one normal dvd is enough for a complete computer backup here. And probably enough for all my cd's if i make mp3 from them. Oh well, its not a bad idea to get a drive that is ready for more capacity storage anyway. In case i find a use for that in future, who knows. Hmm what discs to order then, those that appear like they can be recorded fastest are some TraxData unknown brand. Or is it? I dont know. Verbatim i recognised i have 10 of those cdroms somewhere with old things. Oh well, recording speed isnt important really but i do wonder how long it takes to record a dvd its a lot of data on it. Oki, there is a link to recording speed things i used a calculator and since 8X DVD is more than 50X cdrom data speed (i didnt know that, cool!) a dvd recording at 8x speed should be about 10 minutes. So i really dont need 16x dvd discs, but the recorder thingy i will order can do that too. Still i wonder about correct writing and higher speeds surely will make errors more likely. Hmm, but i could just for a test try both sorts of discs, watch out for the first geeky computer hardware testing later. *giggles* I see there are also re-writeable dvd discs, but really i dont think i trust them to last long some dust or a fingerprint on it i am sure could make the re-writing get errors or something. Ofcourse they could be cleaned before repeated writing... hmm, perhaps i should test those too. Oh well. I dont even know much to save on such discs. But i need to read discs sometimes.
December 12 11:18 Since i cant answer the email from Sam, i may as well write here. Sam wanted to become a Citizen of the Happy World and he appears to be one i would welcome. But he is right, the link to pay taxes with Paypal isnt available so you will all have to wait a bit. If my plans go as expected, i will re-open the Citizens webthings right after New Year. Ofcourse everything i want to do wont be done by then, my homepage isnt even as i want and i have had it a long time now... but this opening there will be special features, and perhaps more importantly there will be a Voting system done so Citizens can have their say in some things. Why is Sam welcome? Well he wrote he wanted to earn his right to be a Citizen, he could clean my room or wax and shine my ice skates. That is how you earn my respect, and perhaps more importantly Mr Bear's respect because he is the one writing Citizenships and i dont alone decide those things. We might for convenience make the Citizenship application mostly automatic, but if we do that and remove tha By Invitation Only idea to keep unwanted people away, then that will only be an application. Know that, because if anyone think they can just pay the little taxes to Mr Bear, to join the Happy World, and then perhaps write crap for comments in my Diary, they will get instantly kicked out to never be allowed back. We will in fact write one first law about such things, so anyone joining us... rad the laws and do not ever break them. *hugs* It would be great to have one or some Citizens who want to take care of my skates sometimes. Or some who would massage my poor feet when they get tired from sporting. Or perhaps someone would brush my hair and other things. Well, it is all virtual but with help of live webcamera(s) next year i will find ways to be more interactive again. And yes if there are many people interested in the Happy World i will get a laptop computer, and one of those expensive business 3G mobile phone Internet things. That way i can probably send live camera updates from anywhere, or at least send updates even if i would go on vacation somewhere far from home. Except not to some far away paradise island, they may not have 3G phoning or even regular fast Internet. Oh well, more fun next year i can almost guarantee it. I have already tried to record video with the new webcamera and it is a lot better for that. But after i moved the dvd drive to second computer my own has none, and i noticed Windows XP installed webcamera drivers, but there are such on the CD too i forgot those. I think its wrong drivers for my camera, since i have for Citizen fun later the Philips ToUcam Pro 2 and not whatever was the number 1 model. Maybe no difference, but i will order a dvd recorder thingy right away so i have something in my first computer too wich is the one i actually use.
December 12 10:20 I waked up in the middle of the night when Lady Bear waked me up with her soft paws. I noticed our bed lamp had stopped working, it was so dark in the room and Lady Bear had waked up alone in the night and didnt like the darkness. Poor her. *hugs* We arent really scared of darkness, but we prefer some light especially when feeling alone. Mr Bear was just sleeping and sleeping so he hasnt even noticed the lamp gave up in the night. But when i waked up to the dark room too, then we were two in the darkness, no problem then. So me and Lady Bear just got really close and hugged each other until we fell asleep again. And in the morning i put a new light bulb in the lamp so it works again.
December 11 21:08 That was a good movie we think here, a lot of violence like in other similar movies, but it was good anyway. So if you like brave knights and movies similar to Braveheart and such then it is worth watching.
December 11 18:46 Hugbears think it could be nice with some popcorns and hugs and a movie, great idea. I make popcorns then we all sit close together and watch King Arthur.
December 11 16:51 I think i avoid computer mostly today so i dont get headache again. If it wasnt for that i thought to try and make the homepage finished at last. Im not sure what to keep though, i removed the Sewing Room thinking it could be on the princess.nu web domain where i plan to create little websites about this or that. But as anyone can see not much happens there yet. Perhaps i just update things a little back so things i already created arent lost in nothingness. But now anyway its dinner time, maybe i write on the homepage later anyway. Tv could be boring then i may as well do something useful.
December 11 13:52 Wee, now my head is better again. Thank you Mr Bear and Lady Bear for the great care. *hugs* Maybe i should get headache pills, most people would use that to get rid of headaches. But i mostly just try to rest and let my hugfriends *hug* my head, i think soft friendly bear paws are nicer than eating pills.
December 11 09:34 I have a headache today again, its not from champagne yesterday i think its from too much or too warm sleeping. I had the same yesterday morning too so its not hangover day here, i dont drink so much i get those kind of boring days after the fun evenings. But i better stay away from the bright computer monitor at least until my poor head feels better. I made hamburgers for Mr Bear and me anyway, headache doesnt stop me from caring about my great hugfriends. Lady Bear is tired and will find something for breakfast later. Mr Bear now doesnt look hungry he is just lazy and thinks i should come and rest on the bed, so he can try and hug my head to make it feel better. It often helps.
December 11 08:46 Good morning hugfriends. *hugs* Hihi, Mr Bear looks hungry and my hugs didnt help much, he still looks hungry. He wants one of my homemade hamburger for breakfast. Oh well... what dont i do to keep the king happy and smiling. So hamburger breakfast it is, i will try that too we make sort of healthy burgers in the kitchen here. Its not like going to the icky McDonalds for breakfast, also then besides their cheap crappy fast food you get the Super Size Me (movie) warning lights waking up telling you to not do that. I sort of wonder what people eat breakfast at a McDonalds anyway... i mean... hmm. Go there to get a quick breakfast? Then the McDonald would have to be exactly on the way to wherever someone goes in the morning. Because otherwise its an extra walk/drive whatever to go and get the breakfast. And the fridge at home must be completely empty, why would anyone otherwise go there? I never walked by those fastfood places in morning but i hope they are empty before lunch hours at least... Breakfast away from home? Well, either a nice hotel breakfast. Or find an early opening cafe with some big yummy healthy sandwich to start a day. Oh well now i got stuck here again babbling about this or that... But that is what i do here, now i sneak away to the kitchen and make a hamburger for me and one for hungry Mr Bear. *hug*
December 11 00:27 This previous note reminded me i read my former good but fake and selfish greedy Internet friend recently went to some casino in Las Vegas and went to some nice restaurant with some sort of discount paper to get a free dinner. And it wasnt valid, and she and her friend had tried to be these fine ladies they werent and envied. It made me laugh actually. Now that i know how this person really is like, i just laugh. Hmm anyway enough about gambling i think, it sure isnt any of my main interests i just found an Internet casino once and decided to try it. The one thing that i noted is that there was a chat function, but when i moved from play moneys to real moneys, the chatting was suddenly really silent. I guess everyone focused on winning. Now me and hugbears are getting tired and we want something fun to end the evening, maybe something funny in the tv. If nothing funny there i think we just have lots of nice *hugs* before sleeping, that is always a nice thing to do doesnt matter what time of day. Hugs are great.
December 11 00:05 I think we have to sleep soon. We ended up seeing some movie with apparently a gaming addict who i would guess for some reason needed to win quick moneys at a casino. Now i didnt share earlier my little adventure but i did loose like 250$ or so trying to play poker earlier. This guy in the movie though, he played black jack for a few ten thousand dollars each time. And he won the first round and thought he could pay this and that, i guess he borrowed moneys to gamble too... anyway he just continued and then he lost more and more. I know that is how it works, the casino always wins in the end if you play against them. Now then... that isnt why i lost moneys, i tried to play poker against other people. But even if i quickly learned that being a coward and mostly making high bets with winning cards, i sometimes didnt care or was just too tired in an evening to bother with 'profitable' wasy to play cards. So for me it was just a game, and i didnt loose moneys i cant afford. I didnt exactly tell Mr Bear in advance i was probably going to loose the moneys i beforehand decided to use for gambling fun, but it happened that way. Anyway that is a good advice for anyone, dont ever gamelb with moneys you cant afford to loose. And in fact, if you couldnt as well just give away (or even throw them away) the moneys you use for gambling, then just dont do it. Its better to know what you have than rely on luck to 'maybe' win something. But its fun anyway, and at times i did win probably about 50% of what i had set as gambling fun moneys. And the final note is that, i know there are people playing poker for a living, i even know that it is basicly possible for any clever and logical person to do it, but its not really worth a try. I will always do that for fun, and if i have any casino fun in real world or the Internet, i will always have a set amount of moneys that are for that type of fun. I actually went by one of the Swedish casinos lately and they had decorated it really cool for the winter and christmas times. I would gues they can afford it with all people loosing moneys there... Never forget that, the casino always wins.
December 10 22:53 Non-swedish people will not understand what this is about, but i write it anyway... Linda Skugge: SHAME ON YOU! How lame is she, just a nobody reporter for a swedish evening newspaper who was at the Nobel banquet, and all she did the minutes tv interviewed her was to complain about uncomfortable shoes and swear a lot, and i mean she was swearing a LOT. Hellooo!!!! Don't ever let that lame stupid woman go to that event again. Myself i appreciate the few people who are awarded the prizes enough to not care about shoes or whatever or give such a stupid interview on national tv. Totally stupid. If i had been there maybe i would have confronted this Linda person and sent her home... *angry* Me and hugbears are happy though, we went to a tv channel with a funny movie in the middle of the Nobel evenin, movie name was Cats & Dogs and it was really fun the part we saw. Ofcourse we didnt see all of the movie, but it made us all giggle in the cozy sofa anyway.
December 10 22:12 Lady Bear thinks these bubbles are nice, i agree this seems like a nice brand. And also after two glasses i am feeling funny so me and hugbears have an extra funny evening here. I saw about the one Nobel Prize winner in literature who isnt in Stockholm to receive the prize and be at the banquet. I sort of knew the reason she didnt visit Sweden wasnt just ignorance or something, she has some sort of social phobia and just cant be on tv and all the things surrounding these prizes. Anyway me and hugbears and lots of other people watch the dinner and entertainment in tv. And one seat at the honorary table where prize winners and royalty sit is empty, because one Princess has the flu poor her. I think Lady Bear should have got that seat. But she is very happy here in our little castle too, extra happy too after drinking a little champagne. *hug* Mr Bear i think he likes other drinks that us girls, but he thinks bubbles are nice too. Probably no more notes today, hope everyone has nice day. *hugs*
December 10 18:06 No Cristal bubbles today, click link to see what brand is in getting cooled today for opening in evening.
December 10 18:03 Yesterday we missed some of the swedish julkalender, today we sure will not. I just have to hurry and eat something for dinner then me and hugfriends will sit on sofa and wait for 18.15 so we dont miss anything. Later in evening it is time for some champagne... no Nobel dinner for me, i sort of should stay inside anyway and hide with my happy hugfriends after the second treatment. But we can at least have some party drinks in the evening, Lady Bear too thinks champagne is nice sometimes. Mr Bear will probably share a glass with us too. *hugs*
December 10 09:23 It seems we slept a bit later today. Maybe i stayed in our cozy bed a little extra long because today is the Nobel Prize banquet? Well actually the Happy World isnt invited there so we will be at home, but it sure would be nice of them if they invited me and Mr Bear and Lady Bear some year. I really think we deserve permanent seats there.
December 09 21:50 Bedtime for all us sleepy friends here in my room. Ture the little blue friendly snake was extra happy today when i made popcorns before watching the Garfield movie, he loves popcorns and almost dived into the bowl. I took a photo of it you will see more of Ture soon i think. Good night. *hugs*
December 09 18:03 Wee, that was funny.
December 09 16:03 Oh... we have forgotten to watch that Garfield movie wich isnt exactly brand new anymore. But we have it, and so now is a good time for popcorns and hugs and having a look at what Garfield and Odie are up to in the movie. I bet its fun...
December 09 12:15 I just found a 20Gb harddrive mp3 player that text said weighs only 120 grams. So i guess whatever harddrive is inside that isnt heavy at all. Oh well, i dont bother with that research then... i want hugs.
December 09 12:11 Another sort of lazy day here in the castle. Mr Bear is just sitting on the bed resting, it looks like he doesnt know what to do today. I will go give him and Lady Bear some hugs after i write in the diary so they both get something to do. And me too. I was thinking to install the (boring) Excel program today to make a graph of some numbers, but since the dvd reader is now in the second computer i guess i cant... oh well. I did plan to move that drive to second brainy, and get a new dvd recorder for my first computer, the one i use mostly. But its just confusing with all the - this and that and speeds and whatever... i read a little about something named dual layer dvd, and so that is double the data size in one disc. But apparently that is slower, the discs cost way more, and also i would assume the discs are then also even more sensitive to scratches or dust. Still i saw the drive cost difference really wasnt big, so if i bother to get one it may as well be able to use those double layer discs. Could be good for saving things on too, hmm... an idea just appeared. MP3 music players to carry around, there are with flash memory, harddrives (heavy and expensive) and cdrom reading versions too. Hmm. Why not just make a dvd reading portable mp3 player that would be cheaper than harddrive music players, weight less, and not be bigger than those that play normal cd's or mp3 cdrom. I have to search about that, i would want music with me when i travel. After search about mp3 players... Hugs! Here is a *hug* for you too if you want one.
December 07 20:26 We are so tired here, i watched tv news with Mr Bear and now we all want to sleep. Not sure what i will be doing tomorrow but i will have a look at the sewing project i want to finish this week and see what is left to do. Maybe i get to work on that righ away that would make Lady Bear extra smiley and i like it when she is extra happy. *hugs*
December 07 14:41 The white cloak is done. Except for the closure thing but i will wait with that until i can decide what i want.
December 07 06:30 We waked up early again, my eyes are a bit tired but i got up anyway. Mr Bear is a little tired he wanted to sleep more so ofcourse he can do that. *hugs* Lady Bear stays with him too so he isnt alone. I didnt finish my white cloak yesterday so i will do that today instead, there isnt so much left to do. But i think i want a special closure for it, i saw one pretty at the same place where i got the standard ones i use, but i also remember it taking some month to get the delivery from there. I think maybe they dont have everything in stock, because even if the place was somrwhere Arizona USA, things from across the ocean still never ever takes more than a month to get to Sweden. Normal for packages is two weeks. Anyway i will just look in eBay and perhaps find something pretty there. At least cloak clasps (apparently their correct name) dont have to fit like a dress or something, so no big worry there in buying from eBay. Somehow the silver clasps i have look way too heavy or metallic on a purely white cloak, they arent so shiny or so and i think that is why they dont look so great on white. Hmm. Maybe they could just be polished. But i will have a look around Internet anyway, it isnt too tricky to replace one clasp with another anyway, same difficulty as replacing a button only a little more hand sewing. Hope everyone has nice days. *hug*
December 06 08:46 Maybe Lady Bear has an idea what to do today? *hugs* She said i should try sewing the last planned cozy cloak i want in my wardrobe, the white one. So maybe i get that done it would be nice to have, even if i dont think the white cloak is useful with much other clothes than white. Anyway i will also try to finish the usefulness of the second computer so it does what it should, then i can continue with webthings too and i will actually get more time for that. I also have a gown to finish before christmas so maybe i should be busy with that instead of the white cloak, but i think there is enough time rest of week to do that. I really need to find some sort of PS2 booster like the 5 meter active USB thingy i have, because while writing this note once again the keyboard (and also mousie) stopped working. Wich means i had to restart computer to get them working again, quite annoying when it happens. It is because of the kvm switch. I didnt spend moneys on that one to get new problems perhaps i should just phone the company that makes it and say they better send me a solution, yesterday. It does not say anywhere how long cables can be used, and i saw places that sell 20 meter keyboard cables so my 10 meters are really not that extreme.
December 05 18:17 Time for the swedish julkalender, wee!
December 05 10:00 Two hugbears in my bed say they think i should come and hug them a while instead of a bath. So i think i go do that the bath can wait a while but nice hugs cant wait.
December 05 09:40 Some email taken care of at least. I will go have a nice warm bath now then maybe i can continue with emails.
December 05 07:02 Good morning again. *hugs* It seems i still wake up early and get tired before evening movies end in the tv thingy. That is good then i can do things in the day unless i get another boring headache. I usually dont get much done when i am awake very late in nights and sleep almost all day, i prefer waking up 6 in morning and not being tired. Yesterday me and hugbear watched some old James Bond movie, Octopussy, well we didnt see all of it but most. I think its fun to see older movies because they are so different from the new, no computer effects, shaky cameras, different acting different clothes different cars and everything. And its not scripted that way, it just was that way. I think i will dive into emails first thing today so i dont get week old emails that should get an answer. Maybe there already is, but better late answers than never.
December 04 15:34 I have to go find some christmas decorations for my homepage.
December 04 15:33 I finally put the cloak closures in my own new green cloak too. But that is all i did so far because my poor head didnt want to do much today so i rested to feel better. And now i am better i just hope the computer monitor doesnt make it worse too quickly.
December 04 06:44 Good morning hugfriends. *hugs* I have a little headache so no more computering until i feel better. Maybe an extra large breakfast will help, followed by some head care from Mr Bear's soft magic paws.
December 03 15:25 Van Helsing movie will not go to my favourites because i dont like icky monsters. Now i go and have nice hugs so i forget the vampires and things...
December 03 12:46 I lead, others follow. The 'fashion' comment from some jealous girl was about the dress at the link. And because of some people obviously wanting to clutter my photo art sites with rude comments, i will stop linking to them from my homepage and that includes new photos. But that is later, i really dont care about negative people anyway in the Happy World everyone likes me. And i like all Happy World Citizens too. *hugs*
December 03 12:41 Just to respond to negativity and craptalk for once... because sometimes it is just hilarious. 'this f*ck*** dress sucks....you guys should quit your day job ....go back to fashion school.......this was definately a FASHION DON'T ' Oki so here is the deal, i dont follow fashion, i create fashion. What i wear is what others who want to be cool strive to wear, that's just how it is being a real Princess. So anyone thinking my dresses arent stylish, no matter how they look like, get a clue. *giggles*
December 03 12:35 I think we need a lazy day with lots of hugs here. And perhaps watch another movie. Before i left the castle we saw the Troy movie, i think it was good. Not sure what we can find to see today but there is always something in the library... I will try to get some webthings updated this weekend, especially the surprises i wrote about earlier. Because those are webthings that will make me smile, and i think some other people should like them too. *hugs*
December 03 09:55 Home again. Well i got home yesterday evening, but after i got inside i hurried to Mr Bear and Lady Bear and they got lots of *hug* *hug* *hug* *hug* *hugs* until we all got tired. It was so nice to be home again and best was to see Mr Bear and Lady Bear waiting for me on the bed. So today i am happy, i survived another treatment and dont have to sleep away from our cozy bed for a while again. Sure the hotel was nice and without sharing too much about my secret travels it was a hotel in Sweden, not in Stockholm, but it had an antrance looking like a castle. I would say their entrance is more impressive than Grand Hotel, but ofcourse Grand has the most luxurious suites and service available. Still it was a nice stay, after treatment wich takes only 30 miutes i just went back to hotel and watched a little tv and slept. I saw the swedish adventskalender with puppets/muppets and that made me smile extra much when falling sleep. I did miss my hugfriends hugs a lot though, but i thought of them having nice hugs in my bed together without me, so then i knew they are fine without me a while. Morning i didnt bother with breakfast ofcourse included in hotel stay, and i actually also forgot to order room service breakfast i was just so tired in evening... but i had a nice relaxing warm bath before leaving and breakfast while traveling home. I just dont want to write what the treatments are about, but since some may figure it out sooner or later Mr Bear says we should have a little medical fund for those who feel like helping with the costs. Mr Bear will ofcourse not stop paying for this until the treasury is empty, wich probably wont happen ofcourse we got so much gifts from Harold the dragon for our treasury too. We really like Harold here, but since he is a secret dragon friend i better shut up you can read the story. I was a bit lost in worries about this second treatment i didnt get much done before i left, but today i think i could at least do some sewing. Ofcourse also time for hugs here me and the hugbears do have two days worth of hugs to catch up with.
